In 2005 KPB Architects designed the original building for Bristol Bay Native Corporation. In 2016 the leadership at Bristol Bay came to KPB Architects with the vision to create a Shareholder Service Center on the ground floor. The project was phased into two projects. KPB Architects relocated Bristol Bay Resource Solutions to the 2nd floor while moving forward with the design of the Shareholder Service Center. KPB Architects met with BBNC leadership as well as user groups to develop a floor plan that maximized their real estate as well as the design for the Shareholder Welcome Center. KPB Architects determined the flow of their business as well as developing a new way to deliver Shareholder services. In the past, Shareholders moved from one department to another to meet with individuals in private offices. The new center includes talking rooms equipped with technology so Shareholders can stay in one meeting room while staff from the various departments can come to the Shareholder. The center includes a business center for Share Holders to use computers and printers as well as a welcome center with a residential feel and a self service coffee and water bar. The conference rooms are equipped with movable walls. The rooms can be opened to create one large meeting room or they can be configured for training. The glass wall along the lobby side can fold away for BBNC’s large Shareholder events connecting the lobby and conference rooms to one large event space. The design team collaborated with A3 Acoustical Engineers to provide a solution for dampening sound in the atrium during events. KPB Architects developed the furniture and equipment package. The design team worked alongside the vendor to coordinate furniture layouts, presentations to leadership and material selection. Interior finishes relate to the existing building finishes . New materials were introduced to provide a modern refresh.
